Deer Tick is a new band from Providence, Rhode Island. Yes, THE rock and roll hot bed of Rhode Island! They’ve been around for a few years and just released their 4th album titled “Divine Providence” .
They remind me a lot of the Replacements, especially the new record. Although, the Replacements started as drunk punks and ended up as mellow songwriters. Deer Tick started as mellow songwriters and are becoming more drunk as each album comes along. But, not in a bad way. They’re great musicians and write great songs! Bonus: they sometimes perform as a Nirvana cover band called, Deervana.
