My Mom: The Facebook Star
Today is my birthday and the best gift I can have is still having my Mother Noreen around to enjoy her wit and kindness and most of all wisdom, she one smart and tough old cookie.
Last week I posted a picture of her on Facebook and apparently most of the world agrees with me because Mom had over 700 thousand people look at the picture.
I had asked for 84 likes on the page to coincide wit her 84th birthday, we far exceeded 84 thousand likes, remarkable.
I was amazed at how something as simple as a picture of a wonderful person like my Mom could go crazy like that on Facebook. The real gift came when I showed her and said these people are all behind your battle with cancer, she cried like a baby, I hope that the incredible response will lift her in her battle.
Thanks to everyone who looked shared and cared, it’s been quite a week and the best birthday ever.
We all know that men are constantly checking out women, that’s a given but at the same time men are also comparing themselves to other men constantly.
The new survey from the website AskMen is out and it looks like we are a vain bunch of fellas.
For some reason men always want to out do the other guy when it comes to anything, it’s just the way we are built.
Some of the findings really tell the tale, 68% of guys say they check out the entire ensemble; what he is wearing, does it match, is it new and of course do the ladies like it.
Eighteen percent of guys always look to see if the guy has any kind of a gut, or as mom calls it a major constitution, then of course the comparison to your own ensues.
This is one trait we share with women, right away 6% of guys check out the other guy’s shoes, we just don’t buy as many of pairs of women that would be impossible.
The new fashion piece to check out and I happen to own 20 different cheap but cool pieces is watches, what’s on the wrist has become quite the topic of conversation. I guess we all like the bling.
When it gets really personal it heads right for the hairline as guys always compare the real estate above your eyebrows to see how far back its gone and how thick it is.
Guys don’t like guys with bad dye jobs either; funny I had this discussion with the guys just last week.
And finally the real test is the car you drive, every man wants to see what your ride is and what it says about you, just spin by Earls on 4th and tell me its not a contest.
We are a quirky bunch, but remember we can still get showered dressed and out the door hours before women, at least we have that going for us.
Another new survey is out from the Daily Mail about what are the top ten Rip-Offs and I couldn’t agree more
