Richard Finch

Bassist/songwriter/engineer Richard Finch co-founded '70s disco superband KC & the Sunshine Band with singer/keyboardist Harry Wayne "K.C." Casey. The duo co-produced six number one pop hits ("Get Down Tonight," "That's the Way (I Like It)," "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty," "I'm Your Boogie Man," and the sweet ballad "Please Don't Go") and four number one R&B smashes ("Get Down Tonight," "That's the Way (I Like It)," "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty," and "Keep It Comin' Love"). KC & the Sunshine Band's "Boogie Shoes" appeared on the 1977 11-million-selling Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, which held the number one pop spot for 24 weeks in 1978. Finch and Casey also produced George McCrae's six-million seller "Rock Your Baby" and Jimmy Bo Horne's dance classic "Dance Across the Floor." Although known for their disco hits, KC & the Sunshine Band recorded some lovely ballads, such as "All I Want" and "Please Don't Go."
