Death Ambient is the name of an instrumental project of innovative improvisers guitarist Fred Frith, bassist Kato Hideki, and downtown figure Ikue Mori on drum machines. The follow-up to their self-titled 1995 debut on John Zorn's Tzadik label was 1999's Synaesthesia, also on Tzadik. After eight years apart they retuned with guest percussionist Jim Pugliese and their third album, Drunken Forest.
