Completely lacking in annotations beyond song titles, Dressed to Kill's The Jimmy Page Collection, Vol. 2 is a group of recordings that have been issued several times over the years under the title No Introduction Necessary, sometimes credited to Page and his Led Zeppelin bandmate John Paul Jones, sometimes to Page, Jones, and guitarist Albert Lee. It is a session consisting mainly of covers of early rock & roll songs associated with Charlie Rich, Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran, Carl Perkins, and Jerry Lee Lewis. The performers include Page, Lee, and Jim Sullivan, guitars; Jones, bass; Clem Cattini, drums; Chris Hughes, saxophone; and Nicky Hopkins, piano. Singer David DeGroot has a throaty, bluesy voice, but the performances are basically run-throughs. Since Lee is well-known for his expertise on this kind of material, playing catchy breaks in a James Burton-derived style, the fills here and there may well be his, not Page's. But there are two long, bluesy jam numbers, "One Long Kiss" and "Burn Up," that presumably do feature Page. In any case, it is ludicrous to bill these recordings under Page's name.
