If Sequel Records had included "That's When I'll Stop Loving You," this collection would be through the roof. It's still a fine assembly of
Linda Jones' songs, with most of her classic readings: "I Do" and "Not on the Outside," first done by
the Moments, and
Jerry Butler & the Impressions' "For Your Precious Love" with her spoken intro. She also does solid remakes of "Dancing in the Street," and "Doggin' Me Around." The original material is no joke either. "Stay with Me Forever," is a pleading love letter that
Jones' litters with exclamation points. She has the blues on "Things I've Been Through," and you would too, if you'd been "slapped, kicked, and laughed at." "Hypnotized" is
Jones at her emotional best. Though she sings hard and dramatizes every note, the ears never tire of
Jones' big beautiful voice.
