24 hour row-a-thon

FRESH! Fitness is teaming up with the Calgary Rowing Club for a very unique fundraising effort. The groups are organizing a 24 hour row-a-thon right in the middle of Stephen Avenue.

Each team will each keep a rowing machine going throughout the day and night. Passersby are encouraged to jump on an extra machine to learn how to row or to contribute a donation to the teams.

Proceeds from the event will be going to a local charity, the Branch Out Neurological Foundation.

"We’re really excited just because of how much awareness it will raise," says Branch Out president Crystal Phillips. "People don’t see a lot of rowing in Calgary so to have it on Stephen Avenue on a hot day and night? I think a lot of people will be interested."

The row-a-thon runs June 20th – 21st, noon to noon and registration is open now! "Many teams are already registered but we are looking for more teams to make this a bigger success! It doesn’t matter what your current level of fitness is, anyone is more than welcome to come down and row for this great local charity" encourages Inglefield. Corporate teams or individuals interested in participating are encouraged to contact Steven Inglefield. ‘Open Teams’ are available for those wanting to get involved. Registration, sponsorships and donations can be made at http://http//www.freshfitness.ca/row2013%20
