Sun and Salsa Festival
10th Street and Kensington Road NW (Sunnyside LRT stop)
Sunday, July 21, 2013
On July 21st, 2013 from 11am – 5pm the Sun and Salsa Festival heats up Kensington as thousands of people descend on the neighbourhood to sample salsas, watch crazy performances, shop from all of our street merchants, and just sit on a patio relaxing in the summer sun. With so much to see and do it’s no wonder this Festival is one of Calgary’s favorites.
There are lots of ways to get down to the Festival to enjoy the fun. See below for more information.
Our salsas are a definite highlight of the Festival. Be sure to buy a bag of chips to help support our two charities, the Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Association and Norfolk Housing and sample all of the free salsas on offer.
With close to 100,000 people who come down to take part in the Festival this is a great opportunity for you to connect and sell to people.
The Festival happens on Sunday July 21 from 11am – 5pm. With so much to do and at the Sun and Salsa Festival it’s hard you’ll be here all day having fun!
We have 5 stages that feature street performers, dancers, and other interactive performances. Each stage has a different performance. We’re just booking those now and when we know who’s going where we’ll post the schedule here.
There is a huge art mural being painted during the festival. You’ll be able to watch it as it gets finished and talk with the artists who designed and painted it.
We’re partnered with Open Streets and they have tons of really fun things for you to try out. You can join in the painting fun and help paint a street mandala, hop on a mini-bike and have a race, or power a speaker for one of the stages. It’s great fun for the whole family.
Plus we have tons of salsa for you to sample! Buy a bag of chips and support our two charities – Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Association and Norfolk Housing then walk around and sample all the fantastic salsa at the Festival.
