So I get back from my winter break to the great news that Rival Sons are coming to town! These guys have been my favourite new rock band since I heard “Pressure and Time”, over a year and a half ago. When I started to look into the band and what they were doing, I realized I had missed my chance to see them in Canada and they were in Europe for the rest of the year.

Then in January (2012), I heard they were swinging through Canada for a short tour before heading into the studio to record their next album. They were only doing a few shows though and most of those were in Ontario. However, the last show was in Winnipeg. Not wanting to miss this opportunity, I told the missus, “We have to see this band now”. Thankfully, she has family in Manitoba, so I was able to swing a “we can visit your sister” angle and off we went. To Winnipeg, in January.

Like seriously, I flew to Winnipeg, in January to see this band play live. It was -20, a typical windy Manitoba winter and worth every minute. Thankfully, I also took my camera and recorded a few songs while we were rocking out in the front row! This is “Pressure and Time”, pardon the shaky cam.

Do not miss this band when they play the Back Alley on February 2^nd. You won’t even have to go to Winnipeg.
